An Austintown business is proud to be part of the brand new 9/11 Museum and Monument in New York City.
SenSource helped install the foot traffic monitoring devices at two different entrances to the site, which count and keep track of every person who enters and leaves the museum.
Think of them as "high-tech turn-stiles," using 4D technology to accurately monitor museum attendance and occupancy levels.
"It actually processes the images and distinguishes between people and other types of objects that may or may not be moving below the sensor, and it's able to count multiple people moving below the sensor," said Joe Varacalli, SenSource president. "It has dual lenses, so it actually sees three dimensionally, and it is very accurate, surprisingly accurate. The last test that we did actually counted the traffic with 100 percent accuracy."
The 9/11 Memorial opened to the public Sept. 12.
SenSource provides people and vehicle traffic monitoring services for several retailers, casinos, libraries, government and health care entities around the world.
