The father of Jordan Brown, the 12-year-old Lawrence County boy charged with double murder spoke to national news media Thursday.

Chris Brown appeared in a network interview, describing his son as terrified when police arrested him for the murder of 26-year-old Kenzie Houk a year ago. Houk was engaged to Chris Brown, and she was eight months pregnant with their son when she was shot.

Brown called Jordan innocent and said he drives four hours every day to visit him in an Erie juvenile detention center. He is promising to stand behind his son until he can take him home. During the taped interview, Chris Brown was asked how he would react if his son is tried as a juvenile.

"Obviously happy that that's the outcome, but then, you know, we still have to prove his innocence at the trial," Brown said.

A Web site has been launched in support of Jordan. Supporters told interviewers on the segment that Jordan is innocent and has been unfairly incarcerated.

"Jordan is best friends with our sons, and Jordan practically lived in our homes most weekends. He is a respectful, normal, happy kid who does well in school and sports. He's never done anything seriously wrong in his whole young life, and he definitely didn't do this," said Lonnie McConahy, a family friend.

The courts have yet to decide whether Jordan will be treated as an adult or a juvenile.
