Issue 6 was a renewal levy, but there's speculation that Mahoning County voters could see a new library levy next year.
Library Director Carlton Sears says the system is still short of cash.
"This right now solidifies basically the part of the funding we already had in place for Mahoning County," he said. "It does not make up for state funds. We still have to figure out a path going into the future of how we provide stable service for the community. We are working on that now and for the next several months and then after we get that done, we will come back and decide how we are going to proceed."
Issue 6 passed with 71 percent of the vote.
